Porta Dante or Rujo
The entrance to the Contrada is carried out from the west side, once Porta Ruio, opened by two turrets of modern workmanship dating back to 1865, called Porta Dante, since they were built on the occasion of the sixth centenary of the birth of Dante Alighieri; an effigy on the left tower recalls the recurrence, while on the right one a panel contains a bas-relief with the profile of the poet.
The two structures have a hexagonal plan, with five sides open by round arches; the top of both forms a terrace attached to the adjacent buildings.
