Coffee Museum
Dersut designed and built, in the immediate vicinity of the company headquarters, the Coffee Museum, inaugurated on 9 October 2010 and set up in a former bacchificio, completely renovated, displaying the companies history, from a sector and of a city.
A museum unique in its kind for the richness of the exhibits and for the completeness of the historical-didactic itinerary organized inside; path entitled “… from the plant to the cup, journey into the history of coffee …”, which allows the visitor to discover the entire chain of espresso coffee.
The itinerary covers a total area of 600 square meters, divided into two floors, then into four sections and ending in a classroom with a tasting room, where courses are held for operators in the sector.
The first stage is dedicated to the coffee plant with an air-conditioned greenhouse in which some plants of the Arabica species flourish and with the display of machinery designed to select the raw grain. The itinerary continues with the history of roasting, an important and delicate phase of the production process, to which the Museum dedicates a rich display of various roasting systems, from manual roasters to electrical-mechanical systems. Upstairs, there is the grinding section, with a fine display of grinders from various eras and different backgrounds. The itinerary continues with the stage dedicated to the history of the coffee maker, with rare and precious pieces from different parts of the world and with different extraction systems, and ends with the stage dedicated to the history of the espresso machine: a rich exhibition, from the first examples of steam-powered column machines dating back to the early 1900s, to lever or piston machines, to the advent of machines with continuous delivery.
The Coffee Museum has obtained the patronage of the City of Conegliano, and is included in the Network of Trevigiani Museums. A network that brings together important themes from the province and aims to enhance the cultural heritage of the territory and is association with Museimpresa, promoted by Assolombarda and Confindustria , Italian association of archives and business museums, which, through the preservation and enhancement of documents, iconographic materials, objects, products and machinery, tell the story of the company and its protagonists.
