Palazzo Montalban Vecchio
Palazzo Montalban Vecchio rises in the Contrada Grande and represents one of the most important examples of 16th century architecture in Conegliano.
The name “Old” draws attention to the existence of another Palazzo Montalban that rises further east on the opposite side of the street and was built by a branch of the same family at the end of the eighteenth century. Due to the use of some decorative elements and the grandeur of the noble floor, the building has been attributed to the school of Sanmicheli (XVI century).
Characterized by a high ashlar porch and, inside, by a beautiful central hall that occupies the entire width of the building, it has beautiful fireplaces sculpted by students of Vittoria and a hanging garden which is accessed through two staircases, giving means to be traveled also by horse.
