Asolo
Defined as the “City of a hundred horizons”, Asolo manages to enchant its visitors not so much for the numerous works of art that it preserves, as for the environmental suggestions, for the seduction of nature, for the history of the people who have so much loved and lived here like the Queen of Cyprus, Robert Browning, Freya Stark, Eleonora Duse, Gianfrancesco Malipiero, Carlo Scarpa…. Walking through the city, it will be possible to admire the main square, the Cathedral that preserves precious artistic works (Lorenzo Lotto, Jacopo Da Ponte, etc.), the Loggia della Ragione, Villa Freya, the frescoes of the small church of S. Caterina, the characteristic Lombard house, the Queen Cornaro Castle, via Browning and via Cornaro. Near the Monte di Pietà you can climb along the Belvedere alley where the Jewish ghetto was located. Worthy of interest is also the Civic Museum where it is possible to deepen the ideas offered walk in the village. It is housed in the Palazzo del Vescovado and in the building of the Loggia della Ragione, formerly the town hall in the 14th century, built to house the City Council and the Magnificent Community of Asolo, and frescoed around the middle of the 16th century.
